“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves, in the course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that justifies it.” – Frederic Bastiat

President Obama got off the helicopter in front of the White House, carrying a baby piglet under each arm.

The squared away Marine guard snaps to attention, salutes and says: “Nice pigs, sir.”

The President replies: “These are not pigs… these are authentic Arkansas Razorback Hogs. I got one for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and I got one for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.”

The squared away Marine again snaps to attention, salutes and says, “Excellent trade, sir.”

Shamelessly stole this from TS

Seen in Eastern Jackson County: Pragmatism.

Fred Arbanas(D) played for the Kansas City Chiefs as a record setting tight end, back when the Chiefs actually won a Super Bowl championship. Arbanas has served on the Jackson County Legislature since it was created in 1973, and is running for re-election on the August 3rd primary ballot against Terry Riley(D).

One would think that after 37 years on the Jackson County legislature, the Kansas City (red) Star could find a more flattering picture of Fred Arbanas. Perhaps the Star simply favors his opponent.

The Independence Examiner conducted a brief interview with Arbanas last week.
